Apple Won’t Release the Next iPhone in June or July [RUMOR]

Hot off the Mashable press:

Apple has no plans to release the next version of the iPhone in June or July, MacRumors reports citing an AT&T representative with knowledge of the plans.

“Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us,” the unnamed AT&T customer care rep said.

As always, unofficial information coming from a third party — in this case, AT&T — must always be taken with a grain of salt. This particular rumor, however, is in line with earlier reports that Apple doesn’t plan to announce the next iPhone during the WWDC conference in June and that it will start shipping the next iPhone in September.

Evidence that we’ll be getting the next version of the iPhone a bit later this year is becoming increasingly convincing. As far as specifications go, nothing is official at this point, but rumor has it that the next iPhone will be an evolutionary upgrade, similar to the iPhone 4 but with a better camera, processor and a bigger screen.
