New iSwifter App Lets You Use Flash on your iPad

From SocialTimes: iSwifter is a cloud-based service that streams flash content to mobile devices including tablets. iSwifter also has a new update that provides users flash-enabled web browsing capability for their iPad – letting them access any flash video or game. “The new update to the iSwifter iPad app presents users with a one-stop destination for consuming all Flash content whether it’s their favorite Flash websites or casual and social Flash games,” said Rajat Gupta, Founder of iSwifter. The service is essentially a streaming service that can deliver flash based content to iOS and Android devices. iSwifter’s cloud servers run abstraction software that converts browser-based flash games to forms optimized for mobile devices. A client app then connects to the cloud-based gaming servers to download streaming content to the mobile device. The service also comes with multi-touch gesture support which is great for developers looking to connect with players through innovative formats. iSwifter also has a try-before-you-buy business model they are implementing that lets iPad owners browse through flash content and pay for the content they wish to own. iSwifter’s iPad app is currently offering access to all the popular casual and social flash games from companies such as Yahoo! Games, Facebook, Kongregate and others.

Currently iSwifter is #11 Top Free App for iPad in Japan and #2 Top Free Games for iPad in Japan. In US it’s #69 Top Free Games for iPad. It’d be interesting to see how their try before you buy business model ties in with 3rd party content – because it could very well require custom integration if it wishes to be more of a marketplace as well. Competitors include Skyfire which offer video and social browsing but offer nothing related to gaming.
