Foursquare has already made weekends competitive as users vie to check in at the trendiest bars and schmickest restaurants. Now get ready for the competitive lunch hour, as new food chain 4Food introduces the burger combo scoreboard.

4Food is a nutritious fast food restaurant is about to open in NYC and will allow customers to build their own custom burgers on their website, choosing buns, proteins, and condiments (there are 140 million possible combinations!). Once you’ve constructed your creation, you can name it and then head down to the shop to pick it up. The game element comes in with the 4Food leaderboard which lists burgers in order of most-purchased.

So say I concoct a Hawaiian-themed lunch option and name it the ‘Shoulda Put A Pineapple Ring On It,’ as I confirm my order I can post it as my Facebook and Twitter status and every time someone orders my creation I get 25 cents credit for my next meal as well as the culinary kudos that comes with a higher leaderboard ranking. If enough people love my custom sandwich, eventually my 4Food lunch will be free!

Gizmodo has already created some snacks and named  them after smartphones so spoon New Yorkers will be able to find out what an Android tastes like and techy snackers will also appreciate the multitude of power points and free Wi-Fi in every restaurant. A 4Food mobile app is in the works which will allow you to place an order on the go.

No word yet on whether 4Food has plans to expand down under. Would you like to see one open near you?
