Agencies often struggle to share project successes with a team beyond those directly involved. More often than not, project successes are overshadowed by the next project and challenge that has flowed into the studio. Our challenge was to develop a mechanism that facilitated and encouraged reflection of specific project success within our studio space, whilst also highlighting and fostering a culture centred in innovation and design.
Combining both interactivity and content discovery, we paired a Microsoft Kinnect 2 with a content platform and ran these to a large LED display in the studio. Staff and Clients could pause as they passed the screen, and using the gesture controls of the Kinnect choose to interact with and absorb specific project highlights. Over time this was expanded to include information on agency specific initiatives, such as Industry events and training calendars.
The Kinnect wall has now become a place where people pause, engage in the broader output of the studio and celebrate our successes and cultural initiatives. It has driven conversation and engagement around topics beyond each individuals day-to-day working role and has served as a physical reminder of our agency positioning around innovation and design thinking.
Visualising project progress and success mean collaboration, efficiency and celebration
