From the NYT: Americans are spending about 20 percent more time consuming radio, television and the Internet than they were a decade ago, according to a survey by two media measurement firms. That jump reflects in part a rise by 26 percentage points in the number of Americans with access to the Internet. But it also speaks to the increasing ubiquity of smartphones, which have brought media into what were once silent spaces.

ABC Tries Mobile-to-Facebook Push to Launch Show

New ABC show Happy Endings may get off to a strong start with a mobile-to-Facebook push the network hopes to use as a template for future campaigns.

The network, working with Mogreet, is asking consumers to text “happy” to 21534, which returns to them a video featuring the show’s stars. Videos are updated every Wednesday when the show airs. The clip then shows up on each user’s Facebook wall. (See image below.)

Grindr for the rest of us – Amicus

Grindr, the massively popular mobile social app that helps guys find other guys that like guys who like guys…is releasing a version for the rest of us code named “Project Amicus”.  The Grindr version allows users to upload their photo and preferences and view a map of potential partners in their area and then connect with them through messaging.
