INNOVATING FOR THE MINISTER OF INNOVATION

Challenge

The Department of Finance, Services and Innovation engaged Nomad to explore the development of a concept for how Community Centred Service Design could work within government.
The project aims to visualise a platform where Government and community can contribute and engage in ideas, challenges and initiatives.
The explorative nature of the project required a consultative concepting approach and prototyping that allowed rapid creation, user testing and refinement within a 4 week window.

Response

Using our Product Thinking methodology, we collaborated with the client and users for iterative user-centric prototyping. The solution focused on the presentation of multiple Government agencies and the community exploring challenges and opportunities parents and children face in starting school.  We deployed a prototype each week for client workshops and user testing, refining each following week towards a live deployment for the Minister and team.

Results

We delivered a high fidelity clickable prototype, refined through 4 rounds of iteration and collaboration with the client team, stakeholders and end users.
The solution was delivered to the Minister of Finance, Services and Innovation for review and validation, receiving high praise for the speed of production and success in answering the core business and user requirements.

A solid output in a short timeframe. This project was a powerful demonstration of how we as a Government should approach innovation
